Q: I have an Error code on my copier
display. What do I do?
A: Call the service department at (518)
377-8000.
Q: There is a little symbol lit on my
copier. What does it mean?
A: Depending upon the model of your machine
but these are the common symbols:
Triangle of balls - Add toner; Pipe -
Replace Photo Drum; z - Jam.
Q: I have a jam light on my copier display.
How do I remove the jam?
A: Depending upon the model of machine, open
the paper drawer and remove any paper, open
the side panels and remove any paper, open
the front door of the copier and remove any
paper. Normally, the handles and knobs
that you can touch are commonly colored;
green, or green blue, depending upon the
manufacturer.
Q: My copier has a black streak only when it
gets sent through the Document Feeder.
What do I do?
A: This is usually is a small spot of
whiteout or post it note glue. Clean
the slit glass with a mild glass cleaner.
Q: My copier is making a loud knocking
noise. What should I do?
A: Immediately turn off the machine and call
the service department at (518) 377-8000.
Q: My copier is not powering up at all.
What should I do?
A: Several reasons can cause this.
Let's try the most common.
Is the machine plugged in? This sounds
dumb, but people unplug machines during
storms. Reseat the plug. Is the
switch on? Besides the front panel
switch there may be another switch on the
right rear side of the copier. Is the
front door closed securely? Open and
close the front door. Is there power
to the outlet? Try a lamp or fan in
the outlet to verify there is power to the
plug.
Q: The error light is blinking and there
isn't a message. What do I do?
A: This is usually from a jam. Look
closely at the display at the very bottom or
very top. Is there any message? Turn
the machine off, count to 15 and power back
up. Call the service department at
(518) 377-8000.
Q: I can't send faxes. Why?
A: There are several reasons why but try
this trouble shooting method. Does it
have a dial tone? Press the hook
button or pickup the handset. Do you
hear a dial tone? If not then you have
a phone line problem. Track the line
and re-insert the connections. If you
do then verify that you have paper in the
correct location. Call the service
department at (518) 377-8000.
Q: I'm not receiving faxes from a customer
but I have a dial tone. Why?
A: Find someone else with a fax machine and
have them fax you. If you don't get
their fax, then call the service department.
If you DO get their fax, then tell your
customer the problem is on their end.
Q: I'm getting a line the length of my copy.
Why?
A: If the line is coming only from one fax
machine, then the line is coming from the
sender. If all faxes received have a
line, call the service department.
Q: I'm getting a error message but doesn't
tell me why. What is wrong?
A: This varies from model to model, but
usually it one of 3 things.
Unplug and re-plug the machine. Open
all the doors and make sure there isn't
paper in the path. Verify all the
drawers are closed.
If this continues, please call us at (518)
377-8000.
Q: I just put in a new cartridge, but my
paper is coming out blank. Why?
A: This varies from machine to machine, but
normally, when this occurs with a new
cartridge, you did NOT remove the plastic
retaining strip from the cartridge.
Remove the drum cartridge or ink cartridge.
Get the original instructions and see if
there is a strip that should be removed.
From ink jet cartridges, it will cover the
bottom. On a laser cartridge it is a
small piece of clear or orange plastic
hanging from the side. Per the
instructions, pull this strip off or out to
release the ink/toner in the cartridge. |
